Vintage (and very rare) Asahi Pentax S2 Super 35mm SLR and Auto-Takumar 55mm f/2 lens
My father has asked me to list his 1961 Asahi Pentax S2 Super 35mm SLR camera,
purchased directly in Japan during a visit there.
This camera is rare, and was only ever sold in Japan. It looks like the
1959 S2 camera, but has a shutter speed dial that tops out at 1/1000 sec
(unlike the 1/500 of the original S2). However, it is still designated
"S2" on the top panel of the camera. [The S2 was sold in the USA
as the H2 due to a distribution deal with Honeywell.]
Very informative web sites with details about these models include
pentax-slr.com
and
camerapedia.wikia.com.
Additional specific discussion of the S2 Super can be found

This camera and lens are in very good condition. It has had a single owner, and was stored
in its leather case the entire time. It was also kept in a smoke-free, pet-free home.
