Robert Cantrell, bass-baritone, has been described by the Baltimore Sun as “A deeply expressive, rich, plangent Bass-Baritone.” Cantrell’s 2012 -2013 performances include the King of Egypt in Verdi’s Aida with the Annapolis Opera, the Naval Captain in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut with the Washington National Opera, Brahms Requiem, Elijah by Mendelssohn, Handel’s Messiah, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra guest soloist, and an Oratorio “For the People” with Gettysburg College. Furthermore, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, Baltimore Opera, Delaware Opera, Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi in Italy, Bregenzer Festspielhaus in Bregenz, Germany, France Tour with Baltimore Choral Arts Society, Columbia Pro Cantare, Handel Choir of Baltimore, Concert Artists of Baltimore, Prince Georges Philharmonic, Deer Creek Chorale, Japan Tour with Washington National Opera, Metropolitan Opera Chorus, Reading Symphony Orchestra and Opera Vivente. Mr. Cantrell teaches at the Baltimore School for the Arts.
