Eric Conway, piano

Eric Conway is known around the Mid-Atlantic region as both a dynamic soloist as well as chamber musician.

Eric Conway most recently completed the Doctoral program at the Peabody Conservatory. While at the Peabody, he was a winner in the 1985 Yale Gordon Concerto Competition. As a prize for this competition, he performed Rachmaninov's Second Piano Concerto with the Peabody Symphony. In the same year, he was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda, an honorary Music Fraternity. Conway is also a recipient of the prestigious Liberace Scholarship. His former teachers include Jack Thames, Ann Schein, Ellen Mack, and Robert Weirich.

In the summer of 1990, he performed in Eastern Africa - a tour sponsored by the USIA. One of the highlights of the tour was a solo performance for Madagascan television and radio. In November of the same year, he performed Mozarts Concerto in C Major, K. 467 with the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra. In September of 1992, Conway performed Grieg's Piano Concerto in a minor with the Goucher Symphony Orchestra. In the Fall of 1994, Conway performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra during its Asian tour or Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. In February of 1995, he performed Schumann's Concerto in a minor with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra. In May of 1995 he was a soloist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in their "All Baltimore" concert. In April of 1997 he performed Beethoven's Emperor Concerto with the Baltimore Concert Artists.

Dr. Conway is currently on the music faculty of both the Morgan State University and the University of Maryland at Baltimore County, where he teaches both piano and music theory.

In addition to his musical accomplishments, he holds degrees in both Accounting and Business Management and is also an Certified Public Accountant.
