Steven Haaser, flute
Steven Haaser is entering his 9th season as the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra principal flute. He was educated at the University of Notre Dame and Brown University, earning degrees in mathematics and physical chemistry. His inspirational primary flute teacher was George Opperman of South Bend. He has also studied with Dr. Heinz-Peter Hellberger at the Innsbruck Conservatory and Donald Peck of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Haaser has appeared as soloist with the Michiana Symphonette, Notre Dame Orchestra, and in 1990 with the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra. While in Austria, he played with the Universität Innsbruck Collegium Musicum and has performed in numerous recitals and chamber music programs.
