This Steinway upright is a beautiful instrument. It has been in the home of the current owner since 1998, and prior to that was in the home of another musician and family friend from roughly 1946-1998.
Its current home is a smoke-free/pet-free home with central air conditioning and a furnace-attached humidifier for use during the winter months. It was kept on an internal wall in both homes (so, since 1946).
The instrument (serial number 77776) was made in 1893, according to Steinway's own serial number lookup service.
As you can see in the gallery of photos, the instrument is quite tall for an upright (large sound board). This helps produce its beautiful sound.
Specific dimensions: 54" tall x 62.5" wide x 28" deep.
The photos also show the striking woodwork of the case, the smooth reflections of the lid (well taken care of throughout its life), and the inscription "Steinway and Sons, Piano Manufacturers to H.M. the Queen of England" which is referring to Queen Victoria!
It also comes with a round piano stool (with claw feet), also in good shape.
There is also a second stool, of a different design, with a round seat, a square pyramid base, and an open tall back.
