I came in from Washington for this tribute to Rabbi Magence. About two weeks before the event, I was called and asked if I would be willing to be the official photographer, which ended up meaning dragging a lot of extra gear to St. Louis (both my Canon SLR system acquired the previous summer as well as my old reliable Pentax SLR system as backup). A truly joyous event.
The Jewish Light article does not mention the number, but I seem to recall the figure that Rabbi Magence had performed 2500 brit milah (bris) ceremonies during his career. This display case showed his myriad record-keeping notebooks of these.
