Frank Jones was a theoretical astrophysicist for the Laboratory for High Energy Astrophysics, a friend and colleague with whom I shared many conversations over the years.

His obituary (screen shot shown below) was published in the Bulletin of the American Astronomical Society December 31, 2007.

Technical background info: This photo was taken in the first round of digital staff photos I did in 2001, with this photo taken September 7, 2001. It was taken with a camera that belonged to LHEA, a 3 megapixel Nikon E990 (one of the black twisting Nikon cameras), with a Vivitar 285 flash on my Stroboframe flash bracket with a special Paramount Cords connecting cord between the Vivitar and the proprietary three pin Nikon flash connector.
