Each fall, the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra puts out a season brochure (tri-fold legal size). Usually, the brochure cover photo is the same one used for the concert programs. This season, that was not the case, as the new general manager Nicoleen Willson decided to have the concert programs reuse a photo of mine from the 2006-2007 season.
This group photo was taken during my March 2008 photo shoot of the orchestra. I set up a tripod-mounted camera in the balcony of Shriver Hall on the JHU campus, pre-focused, and did exposure tests. Then the actual series of photos was taken by Edie Stern, then-general manager of the HSO.
