This article profiles HSO violist (and 2012 HSO concerto competition winner) Malinda McPherson, for whom it was announced in January 2014 that she had won a Churchill Scholarship to study in Cambridge (UK).

The photo chosen to illustrate the article was one from a photo shoot I did with her two year prior, for publicity for the April 2012 HSO Concerto Competition winners' concert. It was not used previously, and in fact, I had to look a little closely to find it, since it was actually an image of the two winners (with the pianist cropped out!).
For her senior recital, she used a different image from the same shoot, one that was used for her solo image from the concerto competition:
