Photography for the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra

I have been a violinist in the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra since 1986. Starting in 2004, I have done photo sessions with the orchestra at the dress rehearsal of the March concert (when the orchestra members really were dressed already for a children's concert that took place later that day). These have been roughly every other year (2004, 2006, 2008, and 2011). The photos from these sessions have been used for all sorts of publicity for the orchestra, including season brochures, concert program covers, staff and student newspapers, and other publications (such as the Maryland State Arts Council annual report (twice).) In addition, I have done more formal posed & studio shots of soloists (student concerto competition winners and more), including shots going back to 1989.

In addition to all the photos represented on these pages, there are photos of mine sprinkled throughout the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra web site, especially since the mid-2009 redesign. However, since I am the architect of that redesign and have been the webmaster ever since, I view the inclusion of those photos in a different category from the ones presented on this site, since I got to decide what was included, not some outside editor!
