John Mather Nobel Scholars

John Mather shared the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2006 for his work leading the Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE) satellite and confirming the Big Bang. He used part of the prize money to establish the John Mather Nobel Scholars program which rewards a small group of NASA summer research interns with money to be used for conferences and research travel.

On numerous occasions, photographs of the winners have been used to announce the awards.

I have been the photographer for this event since 2015 (not held in person in 2020).
