Symphony of the Potomac — Nadia Seiler memorial concert 2014

In August 2014, Nadia Seiler, a member of the cello section of the SOTP, was tragically killed in a traffic accident while riding her scooter in Washington, D.C. For the SOTP's first concert of their next season in November 2014, the Anton Arensky "Variations on a Theme by Tchaikovsky" was dedicated to her memory.

I took the photo of her playing during a rehearsal in May 2014. This was a test photo session with a new camera before I did a full photo session with the orchestra in concert dress. This photo was also the final image used in a slide show of images at the memorial service at her workplace of the Folger Shakespeare Library.
