1994 Washington University Master of Liberal Arts Dean's Award
Washington University's University College is dedicated to continuing education for people in the St. Louis area. Within that, the Master of Liberal Arts (MLA) program is designed for professionals who already have a bachelor's degree but seek to do additional coursework across a broad range of disciplines.
Michael taught in the MLA program beginning in 1983 until many years after his retirement, and found these courses and these students among his most rewarding experiences.
In the fall of 1994, he was honored by the MLA program with its Dean's Award for Outstanding Teaching.
